Simply Seven

I just recently read an article in the latest {Real Simple} magazine. The article stated that there really should only be 7 things on a daily to-do list.

On a side note here, they also had a super-fine article on how to know if your bra is too tight. I was quite intrigued with my personal discoveries. Seems the back fat you see from a bra is actually due to 2 factors:

1. You kinda have a squishy back.
2. You are actually wearing your bra too loose in the back. Cuh-razy.

Anywho, back to the ole #7.

For all of those list makers out there. Yes, I am talking to myself here too. Seven is all you need per day. Now, I realize there a lot of self-fulfilling listers out there like my S-I-L Kim who actually makes up stuff to check off her list. You know tiny tasks that she just completed. Well, she writes them down just so she can check them off. She willingly admitted this to me over Christmas and well, I just had to share.

Or perhaps you are like my good friend Stella. Stella is the guru of order and multi-tasking. This woman, I kid you not, has a color coding system complete with all the bells and whistles per day to keep her life more peaceful and progressive.

Then there's me. Remember, the steno pad?

Whether you are intricate or ignorant to the world of tasking, this article promotes 7 things per day.

I like this number as it seems peaceful though odd.
{I usually lean nicely on even numbers.}

I am working on a daily checklist to use in my life. Once complete, I hope to create it into a pdf download for anyone interested in using this too.

This daily checklist also includes my own personal twist on ready rest reminders and projecting tomorrows.

I am hopeful this list will keep me more accountable to myself, my family, my friends and my community. I will be sure to keep you posted on its completion!

So, 2010 is here. WOW.
What's in store for you?
Come on, resolutions abound.
Share a little of your light here!

Yes,yes, I must admit I add things to my list just so I can check them off! I like to think that my list is close to complete. The more items marked off the better! It's that OCD thing I have going on in my world!

So resolutions:

Run this marathon! We have to keep each other inspired.

Make this the year to reconnect and grow with my husband. With a new child in 2008 and lots of stuff in 2009, we seem to have pushed each other down to the bottom of our "lists." Time to bring us back to the top! Date nights are in my future!

Grow spiritually.

I am serious-this is my N.Y.Resolution: not to be so 'type A' about my home, and enjoy each day more...for me this is taking time each day to do something 'physical', and this doesn't mean vacuuming, or laundry-but taking a walk and skipping the dishes...And maybe I'll get my bra checked-after your advice on bras-I need to check on that!
Happy New Year, Miss MAC!

Oh man, I was looking forward to seeing the list of 7. But you mean everyone should have a different 7? Either way, sounds good. 7 seems attainable.

Me, my resolutions?, do less of the things that drive hubs insane, like leaving not just 1 but 2 rolls of tp space empty. And putting the lids back on my toiletries after I use them. On a bigger note, exercise 4x a week & be healthier and more sane.

Happy New Year!!!!

Hmmmm, your blog is not the 1st where I see my link on the left but it says my last post from 3 days ago and not my most recent one. It seems to be a prob with just mine because everyone else's is accurate. Hmmm.

Meg! LOVE the side note on bras and back fat... you made me LOL, especially since I think the #1 is my problem :0))

I'm a list maker too... and maybe I also have a "tinge" of what Kim does... it CAN make you feel better.

I guess there is one question... are you making the daily life checklist in your stenopad? hehe. Can't wait to hear more about this.

Also, I do hope I am not stealing any "post thunder", but you should totally do a little sharing (WITH PICS) about your crazy organized coupons...Whoa Baby!! Loveit.

So, I'm back commenting again, because well you know this is just so my favorite topic. Seriously, my management plan has changed my world! I love my system so much. I get a lot more done but no longer have that overwhelming feeling of having to do it all at once.

Can't wait to see your system!

I also add things to my list to check off and sometimes out of necessity. Sometimes I put on there eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or a include bathroom breaks. If I am super busy and my list is long, then I need little reminders of these things or I won't do them. I also find if my list is short than I am not as productive. I happen to like long list to do. The busier the better in my mind.
My new years resolution is to save more money and spend less this year and learn french. I have more on my blog. What are your new year's resolutions MAC?

Meghan! Are you couponing too?! I learned from a super cute girl, Claire Wood. She came to my church and showed us how to set up the nifty binder action. I have saved a load of money. I hardly ever darken the doors of Wally World anymore. I save a ton at Publix.

Totally sidetracked I know...resolutions:

1. Chill Out
2. Work Out
3. Get Out - of the house and play

*BTW - I am so glad to see that I am not the only one who adds things to my list just so I can check them off. ;-)

It seems lately I'm putting more things on "other people's lists" so I can check off things on my list. I'm not sure if that's fair!

My New Year's Resolutions? Well, first and foremost...find a housekeeper! Yes...I know, admitting it is half the battle. But all for a good cause...to help me achieve my true resolution...weekends filled with swim lessons, awana, and ballet.

My other resolution cannot be posted but it has something to do with that hunky husband of mine :)

My heart was jumping for joy and couldn't read fast enough to hear of this magical number 7 you speak of. I only strive to be as cool as Stella and her wonderful system, and if you're saying I need to limit myself per day then just maybe there could be new system emerging. Oh and I SO write down little tasks I completed like your SIL ESPECIALLY if I feel like I got nothing accomplished that day. LOL So, let her know she's not the only one! ;-)
